“M” Is For Mastery

In this hands-on workshop, we will take the fear out of the manual setting on your camera. Yep, that’s right…Manual!  The big “M”. You will override the computer in your camera and be able to take complete creative control of your images.

With his 45 years of experience behind a camera, your instructor will walk you through the functions and settings of your camera. You will learn how these elements affect each other and the final image.

Discussion topics will include:

•         the exposure triangle
•         depth of field
•         stop-action and slow-motion capture
•         light metering and sensor sensitivity

In the afternoon, we will venture into downtown Ellsworth for practical application of your new skills (weather permitting), so please dress appropriately.

Prerequisites: 

• Basic knowledge of digital camera operation and terminology
  This course is designed for individuals who are experienced in the basic programmed functions of a digital camera and understand basic photographic terms and are ready to take their skills to the next level.
• DSLR Camera with lens and memory card(s)
  You must provide your own gear and your camera must allow you to switch to manual mode where you can independently adjust aperture, shutter, and ISO.  (Please familiarize yourself with how to do this prior to the workshop. Because of the wide variety of equipment we will not be able to address multiple menus in class.)
• Tripod  (Optional, but highly recommended)
